Phase I: Project Kickoff
The initial design consultation, lasting about 1 to 1.5 hours, aims to understand your lifestyle, family, space usage, design preferences, project goals, budget, and timeline. During this consultation, we’ll also discuss fees and our design philosophy.
Phase II: Space Planning and Design
After a letter of agreement and deposit, we begin the design process. We will revisit your space for measurements and photos. Together, we’ll develop the layout, look, and design plan. Appointments at retailers and showrooms will help us source items like fabrics, furniture, draperies, rugs, and decor. If needed, we can recommend licensed contractors, architects, engineers, electricians, plumbers, or other construction professionals, but you will be responsible for hiring them. Additional meetings may be scheduled to discuss options. Deliverables may include a Concept Board—a visual collage conveying the style, mood, and direction of the design—a Digital Presentation, which features 2D floor plans of each room with selected items, and—a Furniture Plan, which includes a list of items selected by room/area and estimated pricing based on your budget and timeline.
Phase III: Purchasing, Procurement, and Project Management
Upon approval of the floor plan and selected items, we begin purchasing. Purchase orders will be sent for your approval, and your budget will be tracked. For furniture delivery, you can either receive shipments yourself or have us receive them on your behalf; our hourly rate applies for travel and waiting time, if we assist. When you receive deliveries, we ask that you inspect all pieces for defects or damage. If we receive them, we will inspect both items and your home. For drapery and other installations, we oversee the process and charge our hourly rate. For artwork and specialty installations, we can recommend professionals, but you are responsible for hiring them. In-stock retail items may take several weeks to arrive, while custom products can take several months. Once all items are delivered and installed, we style your space.
Phase IV: Project Completion
Once the space is arranged to your specifications, you will see your completed project realized in your home. This exciting phase marks the fruition of your vision. We will conduct a walk-through to create a punch list for any outstanding items.
